Origin Story

From a personal challenge to a platform serving over 10,000 bookings and generating over 3 million SAR in revenue

Sara and Thaer met for the first time in 2018 while working in the engineering team at Emirates Travel Company in Dubai. They immediately hit it off and started working on side projects together, completing more than 20 independent projects.

Vision and Launch

In 2023, the founders decided to turn their technical expertise into a solution that addresses a real market problem. Sara noticed that most small and medium-sized businesses rely on WhatsApp as their primary communication channel, leading to a complex and fragmented experience for both customers and service providers.

This observation was validated through multiple experiences - from the challenge of booking professional services to the frustration of local restaurants avoiding delivery platforms due to high commissions.

The founders realized there was a clear gap in the market: small businesses need a strong digital presence and advanced administrative tools, but available solutions were either too complex or too expensive.

Journey and Evolution

Initially, the founders focused on products, but quickly realized they couldn't compete in this market against the established players in the field.

The turning point came when they contacted two businesses: a pet grooming truck and a shared workspace, asking if they could offer their services on the platform.

Here, Sara and Thaer realized that service providers were completely overlooked and needed a real digital presence - a platform that covers their entire workflow and simplifies it.

tkana Today

The founders decided to build a platform around carefully selected service providers, leading to the current application that has achieved over 10,000 bookings on the platform.

tkana believes that every service provider deserves a strong digital presence and tools to help them grow and thrive, rather than relying on traditional complex methods.
